How far is Les Gets from Geneva Airport?
Around 1 hour and 15 minutes by car or minibus. We do include free, private airport transfers in one of our own liveried Ski 2 vehicles free of charge with most of our catered chalet holidays (unless stated otherwise). Morzine (and Chalet Tavernier) is another 15 minutes from the airport.
Can you recommend a company for airport transfers?
Most of our holiday prices include a FREE Ski 2 Meet and Greet service with private transfers between Geneva and Les Gets and Morzine, but if you choose a holiday that that doesn’t include these transfers (in our self-catering apartment for instance), then we can either provide you with a quotation, or there are a number of independent transfer companies operating between Geneva Airport and Les Gets and Morzine, including Getaway Vans.
What height is Les Gets village?
The village is located at around 1,170 metres.
What height is Morzine village?
Morzine village is located at around 1,000 metres, but Chalet Tavernier is close to the base of the Prodains Express lift which rises from 1,161 metres up to 1,736 metres.
Les Gets is part of the French Portes du Soleil ski area. Which are the other resorts within this region?
Morzine, Avoriaz, Les Crosets, Champoussin, Morgins, Chatel, La Chapelle d’Abondance, Torgon and Champery.
Are lift passes included in your prices?
We include a Les Gets / Morzine lift pass with all of our Les Gets catered chalet holidays and a full area Portes du Soleil lift pass for those staying at Chalet Tavernier in Morzine – a 3 night holiday includes a 3 day pass and a 7 night holiday, a 6 day pass.
Many of our Les Gets clients find that the Les Gets / Morzine lift pass is more than adequate for their holiday, but others like to explore a little further afield in the Portes du Soleil. There are 2 options for those staying at Chalet Delavay or Chalet Fleur de Neige to upgrade to the Portes du Soleil pass.
Option 1 – To upgrade to a Portes du Soleil pass on a daily basis when you are in resort. Our resort team will assist you with this in Les Gets, at a cost of around Euros 44 per person, per day.
Option 2 – To upgrade the pass for the full duration of your holiday prior to departure through us at a cost of £15 per adult, per day and £13 per child. As an example, if you have a 5 day Les Gets / Morzine pass included in your holiday cost, you can upgrade to a 5 day Portes de Soleil pass at a cost of £15 per day x 5 days = £75 per adult. This option is only available prior to the start of your holiday through our UK office.
Do more mature skiers get a free lift pass?
Skiers aged 75 or over get a free Les Gets / Morzine lift pass for the duration of their holiday. If you are aged over 75 and booking one of our catered chalet holidays, please do let us know and we will reduce the cost of your holiday to exclude the lift pass.
What are the check-in and check-out times for your accommodation?
Our usual check-in time is 1400 hours and our check-out time 1000 hours. Very occasionally we will be able to provide a room for you to change in, but we can always make arrangements to store your luggage for you on that day if you arrive before our normal check-in time, or depart after our check-out time.
Are hairdryers provided?
Hairdryers are provided in all bedrooms in all of our chalets and there is one hairdryer between the two bedrooms in Apartment Delavay.
What type of pillows are used in our accommodation?
We use foam anti-allergy, soft support, hollow fibre pillows in all of our accommodation.
Are there board games in the chalets and apartment?
Yes. We have a supply of ‘family-friendly’ board games in all 3 of our properties.
Are toiletries provided?
Shower gel and shampoo is provided in all of our bathrooms.
Are towels provided?
Towels (two per person – 1 x hand and 1 x bath) are provided in all of our accommodation, including in Apartment Delavay.
Are toweling robes provided?
We only provide these at Chalet Tavernier for guests when they are using the Hot Tub. These should be returned to the chalet staff at the end of your stay please.

If we have chosen a Les Gets chalet holiday with a Les Gets / Morzine lift pass included, can we then choose to upgrade it to a full Portes du Soleil pass?

We are staying with you in Les Gets. Can we store our own ski equipment in the deposit at the bottom of the Chavannes lift?
If you choose to bring your own ski equipment and are staying in any of our properties in Les Gets, then you can store it in our deposit at Delavay Sports, close to the bottom of the Chavannes lift. Chalet Tavernier in Morzine has its own ski deposit in the chalet.
What times are meals served in the catered chalets?
Breakfast is from 0800 until 0930 every morning. On the chalet staff’s day off (usually Wednesday), a continental breakfast will be served. Dinner is served at 2000 hours, after canapés and a glass of ‘fizz’ at 1930 hours. Or chef will ask guests if they would like to dine at a different time and children may have supper from 1730 if parents wish (this can be discussed with our chef on arrival).
What are the current skiing conditions in the Portes de Soleil?
We try to update our Facebook page regularly with information and images about the resort and current skiing conditions. By ‘Liking’ our Facebook page, you’ll keep up to date with all the latest news from resort.
Can we book ski school through Ski 2?
We would be pleased to assist you with booking ski lessons for your group or you are welcome to book these direct. Please click here for more details of the ski school options in Les Gets.
Can you provide a cot for youngsters?
We can provide cots (with bedding) and high chairs for our younger guests in all of our properties. Please call to discuss your requirements.
Is Snowcare / Carte Blanche insurance available ?
This is available to pre-book for the duration of your holiday through our office at a cost of £3 per person (adult and children), per day. Please call us on 01962 713330 if you would like to add this to your booking.
Carte Neige is a French-based insurance and can be purchased at the ticket office or in a lot of cases at the Bureau de tourism in the resort. The main thing it covers is rescue and transport off the mountain if you are on or off-piste. Even if you already have ski insurance which does cover mountain rescue, it is still advantageous to have Carte Neige as, if you carry it with your ski pass, the rescuers will instantly recognize it, as opposed to you having to contact your insurance company and getting them to guarantee payment etc. It does NOT replace your standard wintersports insurance which you should have in place.
If I arrive late in resort, what will be the arrangements for evening meal?
We will discuss options with you prior to your holiday, but we would normally provide soup, bread and a selection of local charcuterie and cheese for those guests arriving after 2100 hours.
How far is your accommodation from the lifts?
Apartment Delavay and Chalet Delavay are in the same building and just a few metres from the bottom of the Chavannes chairlift (the main lift out of Les Gets, over towards Morzine). Chalet Fleur de Neige is a short (7 or 8 minute) walk from the bottom of this lift. All ski equipment is stored at Delavay Sports at the bottom of this lift, so your walk from Chalet Fleur de Neige, along one of the main streets in the village, is just in your comfortable shoes.
We do have a Ski 2 minibus based in both resorts to provide local transport for our clients. The minibus will be available on-demand to our guests between 0800 and 1000 hours and again between 1600 and 2000 hours. A quick call to our driver on a dedicated line will arrange a lift between your accommodation and the Chavannes chairlift, or a little further to other resorts in the Portes du Soleil. Evening transfers will also be available around the resort. We aim to provide a comprehensive local service throughout the winter, but there may be a few occasions when the minibus is involved in transferring our guests a little further afield and is not immediately available.
Chalet Tavernier is situated just a 90 second transfer from the bottom of the Prodains Express lift up to Avoriaz and on to Morzine or an 8 minute transfer from Morzine village. Our free, on-demand minibus and driver based at this chalet are available to transport you around as required.
Is there a spa in Les Gets village?
There is a spa and swimming pool in the annex of the Marmotte Hotel in the village – the Sereni Cimes Spa – which is available to non-hotel guests throughout the winter except during the month of February. Access to the sauna, Hammam, jacuzzi and swimming pool is from Sunday to Friday inclusive between 1600 and 2000 hours at Euros 20 per person, per session (only open to hotel residents during the French holidays from 10th February to 10th March). Access to the swimming pool only is Euros 8 per person – Tuesday to Friday inclusive between 1000 and 1200 hours. Reservations are essential, but this can be done via our Resort Manager.
Is there car parking in Les Gets / Morzine ?
There are several areas of free outdoor car parking in and around the village of Les Gets. One of our team will direct you to the most appropriate once you have unloaded your luggage (unless you are staying at the Chalet Fleur de Neige, where there is free covered car parking for 2 vehicles under the chalet itself).
The main free car parking is in the large village car park where the outdoor French Market takes place every Thursday morning, so you would have to move the car on a Wednesday evening until the following afternoon.
There is covered car parking close to Apartment and Chalet Delavay and during January and March/April there will always be space for a charge of Euros 60 for the week per car. This can now be booked in advance by clicking here.
For those staying at the Chalet Tavernier in Morzine, there is free, undercover car parking for 2 vehicles right beside the chalet.
